'Ne'er forget the People'

AYR was erected into a Royal Burgh by King William the Lion in 1202, under
perhaps the oldest known charter in Scotland. In the centre is a shield bearing
a castle with three towers.
South Ayrshire Council's motto is perhaps a timely reminder, in the current climate of cost cutting, to those who are relying on our votes at the up and coming elections.
