The Gifford Gentlemen's Football Club

In this picturesque East Lothian village there are a group of dedicated footballers who refuse to let age get in the way of a good game of football.

We meet every Friday evening at 18:30hrs for a friendly match - sometimes as little as 6-a-side, and sometimes we have enough for two full 11 man teams.

The age range is 17-65. And the range of abilities is, well lets just say it's mixed.

This week our oldest player, George (middle) is celebrating his 65th birthday.

The team produced a vintage Heart of Midlothian FC jersey dating back to the mid 50s when he started attending their games at Tynecastle.

He was awfy pleased.
