Disaster!

Some more back blipping.

It's fair to say that wednesday was about the worst day of 2011 so far. Our kitchen and bathroom are being tiled at the moment and whilst working in the bathroom our tiler, discovered that 5 out of the 8 joist that support the floor boards were rotten. Two of them had more or less disintegrated! I was in Sheffield for work when I found this out. I hurried back home. To say the beams were a mess is an understatement. It's actually a bit frightening as its fairly miraculous that the floor hadn't caved in. I spent the afternoon calling around to try to get somebody who could sort the problem in super quick fashion and luckily managed to get somebody who could do it the next day. This has set our tiling back two days though.

Now here is the big problem, our house only has one bathroom and it now had no floor and hence no toilet or sink. So Becci and I packed up some stuff, grabbed our two cats and moved into our flat in Whitley Bay for the night. Has been a serious upheaval!

Oh, my blip. A huge bee had somehow found its way into the the house and was seemingly exhausted. It had landed on one of the white backing boards for the kitchen units which was rather handy!
