A River on the way to Snowdon

It took a while for the sun to start shining today, but when it did it became a great day. A lot of the morning was spent in the garden planning where to plant the greenhouse and just exploring the bits of the garden we hadn't looked at since we moved in. The vallley was warm, sunny and peaceful with just the sound of the little lambs calling their mothers in the fields. It all helped us to feel that we'd made the right decision buying the house. We decided that we would chose a scenic route to get us the 100 miles back to Manchester - or should I say an alternative scenic route, since the normal one is breathtaking enough.
We went via Snowdon, and on the way there stopped by a likely-looking river. The pictures we got were not disappointing. We managed to find a really decent tea-place as by this time we were gasping. And there we sampled a "Patchwork" cheese with an accompaniment that tasted like mincemeat (mince pies as opposed to spag bol). Further analysis revealed it was mainly apricot and cinnamon. Anyway, whatever it was it went well with the cheese and toast and salad - well enough to encourage us to replicate it after we get home. So having spent most of the afternoon on the first part of the journey back to Manc, we found we had a little over 110 miles left to go.
That, coupled with having an hour mercilessly wrenched from our day as we are now in BST meant that we got back quite late. I don't feel as if I'll ever get that hour back.
