Perch Rock Lighthouse

There has been a lighthouse on this site since 1683. Construction of this version started in 1827 and it remained in use until the 1970s at which point it was decided that newly installed radar systems in the river meant it was no longer needed.

Its privately owned now. Not so long ago it was possible to go and stay there overnight, but sadly no longer. On a day like today, that would have been a blast.

/edit - I see from the 1 year ago shot it was a bit blowy this day last year as well.
