Among My Souvenirs

Back home today from our wonderful visit to London. We stayed in Hitchin and meandered around Hertfordshire for the first few days, lots of photos to sort through and will be backblipping as soon as I have converted the RAW images.

Great weather all week and Sunday at the Emirates Stadium was the icing on the cake! What a wonderful party atmosphere from the minute we caught the train from Hitchin till we got back late at night . Met up with an enthusiastic crowd of supporters travelling from the North of England on the train and at Finsbury Park station the atmosphere was so happy with Brazilian and Scottish fans all getting past the language barrier with our shared passion for the beautiful game. Got so many photos and had so many taken by the Brazilians who appreciated the many supporters wearing tartan and a Brazilian top. John had on his Hunting Cameron kilt and I wore a matching plaid over my Brazilian top.

The approach to the stadium from Arsenal station was overflowing with colour and excitement as many families had travelled great distances for this friendly game. The sound of Samba bands and pipers filled the air and, off course the Scottish fans full of song before , during and after the game.

It was obvious from the word go that we were all there to see the masters from Brazil perform with style , which they did in abundance. Brings back many happy memories of Scotland Brazil games, none better than the 1966 game at Hampden when Stevie Chalmers scored against them just inside one minute, the final result a very creditable 1-1 draw.

Anyway , today i set up a simple table top shot of my plaid, braziliand top and badges / jewllery which I wore to the game on Sunday . Will be creating a photobook of the game with this as the front cover.
