View from a Car

Day 7 of The Exchange with Scarlet. I am definately getting used to this camera as I never even thought that I was on an Exchange yesterday and forgot to mention it. I also keep forgetting to mention that you need to look back and check out the shutter speeds on the Exchange photos. They are hilarious. Things like 1/38.7" - now that's precision.

Today was a Queensferry day. I've been there a lot lately and on each journey I pass wonderful things that I would love to blip. Mostly they are slap bang in the middle of some roadworks so I can't get near them, or there is no-where to park up and get out.

Today, I decided to shoot only from the car. Nothing like taking on more! I was able to take most of what I wanted, and this is my best. This is a really interesting view. The two bridges are viaducts, one housing a railway line, the other a canal. The street ahead always amazes me. It has buildings which would not look out of place on Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, such is their splendour. Yet they are stuck out on their own at a traffic junction on a busy road. I must look up the history of the street one day. Very wealthy people must have lived here. There are no buildings like this for at least a mile or so in any direction so it does make me wonder.

My role in Queensferry has changed lately. I am no longer the physical do-er, there are far mor important things that need attended to. My role is that of Joker, stress reliever, smoother overer, anxiety bringer downer. I come away with my cheeks hurting from the smiling I have been doing and my head buzzing from the nonsense I have been conjuring up to keep the atmosphere light an bright. Who knows if any of this is working - only time will tell.

Have to say Scarlet, your baby did well today, I doubt the big guns could have made a finer job of this shot - ok I am still buzzing and maybe expanding the truth just a little, but it's making you feel better isn't it?

P.s. I shall await the Road Traffic Ticket for not concentrating on my driving and taking photos whilst driving.
