Churlish, moi?
So in my capacity as a (minor) shareholder in ITV (long story), I received the Report & Accounts for 2010 which I leafed through today. Didn't read much I wasnt already aware of, apart from the fact that ITV is an investor, along with the other major UK broadcasters, in YouView, which apparently is going to "change the way you watch TV forever".
Anyway, I came across the section on directors and there he was, smirking smugly at me - Adam Crozier. I don't like Adam Crozier. I should point out that I don't know Adam Crozier, but I don't much like him. Is it because he's had a phenomenally successful career? (though only a year or so older than me, he's been chief executive of every organisation he's worked for since 1995! Having said that, for someone who worked for an advertising agency, much of his career has been anything but creative, focusing largely on cutting costs and shedding jobs at Royal Mail and ITV). Is it because he appears to have done all this on the back of a 3 year BA degree at Heriot Watt university? (nothing wrong with BA degrees from Heriot Watt, but it didn't even become a university until 1966! I mean, really...) Is it because he was Chief Executive of the FA? (reason enough, some may say). Or is it because last year his remuneration package came to £1, 179, 000?
I'm not sure...can't put my finger on it, but he'd better push up the share price, or he'll have me to answer to (and I went to a university that was founded in 1451!).
And on a brighter note, I'm feeling a tad better today...
