For Everyone

We are required to read the news for my communications in society class. My professor believes (rightly so as sad as it sounds) that my generation isn't updated on current/wordly events and each week she quizzes us. So, I've been reading the New York Times and listening to NPR daily and have come to the conclusion that the world really just disgusts me. From the world wide level; the tragedy in Japan with the earthquake/tsunami and the nuclear disaster that has followed to the military action in Libya. Then the nationwide level where I've read about gang rapes in Texas, corporal punishment in schools across the nation, foreigners paying thousands to come give birth in the US. And then the local level; yesterday another boy from my town only a year older then me killed himself. It all just saddens and disgusts me. All of it.

RIP Ben. I hope you've found peace. I don't think I can say it better than Plato did here "Always be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Just keep that in mind as you go about your day. Sometimes all someone needs is a smile or a kind word to turn their day around. Be generous with compliments. Tell the people you love how you feel. And never take for granted what you have. Find the beauty in the world and relish in it.
