Where the heart is

Tomorrow I'm flying off to Cyprus.

Whenever I'm about to go on holiday I get a bit fluttery - call it excitement or nerves - maybe a bit of both.

When I was quite a bit younger I used to get really quite upset about going away! I never seemed to want to leave home! One day my wise mum had a word with me about it. She said I needed to remember that quite literally 'home IS where the heart is'. She explained my heart was wherever I was taking myself off to and I should always feel at home in myself wherever I was. With that new attitude I found I was able to embrace travel and trips much more enthusiastically.

If I think about where my heart is at right now and in terms of this picture I've taken this evening I'd add that travel and meeting people through expanding my life that way has really enriched my life.

When I look at this picture there isn't just one person who springs to mind. By travelling and moving on there are several people who still make my heart fill up with love for them when I remember the special times and moments we shared.
