A long way home

Managed about 16km on my bike before dinner tonight (ah those long summer evenings). It felt tough. Not too bad on my way out, the wind at my back. But the return leg felt like a very long way.

At the point I stopped to take this pic (Thank you blip for the stopping excuse) I had about 6km still to go. That's home over there, the middle finger of land - a different island, linked by a causeway.

That seems like very far away.


P.S. I'm now working in km, instead of miles. I pretend this is because the pro cycle races are done in km. But really it's because it sounds as if I've gone further.
