Two Doors

Today we went for a wander around Circular Quay and a look through the markets at the Rocks. Some amazing photos by some amazing photographers are on sale here and all at a particularly affordable price, I?m sure in the future I?m going to regret not purchasing an image or two that?s for sure. Up a side street we found these doors.

And they got me thinking.......

Why is it that we are generally so conservative about the way we decorate things, especially things of an historical nature?
We saw these doors or more to the point the pink wall that they are set in to, it looked so great and eye catching and I thought of some of the older buildings and how they are in a time warp. Maybe the answer to appreciating these buildings is to let them develop a life all of their own and move them into the 21st century. They don?t need to age gracefully they can and should be as bold as the owner wants, it is much more fun.
