Waves on the Shore

Today we had to drive from Dunedin to Christchurch and its earthquakes to connect with our flight to Sydney very early on Friday morning. Its a 5 hour drive and not something either Mrs O or myself was looking forward to but off we went. We stopped for a wee break on Kaitiki Beach...

And it got me thinking.......

With the earthquakes in Christchurch and Japan and the strength of Mother Nature firmly in my mind I started to notice the power of the ocean, the way it just keeps on coming and cant be defeated. Why would we mere mortals believe we can control it when we cant control ourselves. We really are stupid arent we!!!!
