Marjorie's ramblings

My first time at the races

I had never been to the races, until today that is. L (my fellow photography addict) and I went to Hexham races this afternoon. It was a beautiful day and loads of people arrived for the afternoon. The views from Hexham racecourse are stunning because you look south across the shire. It makes for some tricky lighting in the sun, but no one was complaining about that today. I was impressed by how many families were there, all enjoying the day out together.

We were so absorbed in our photography that we did not place a single bet! I've had a quick flick through (400 images gasp) and chosen this one. One of the regulars gave us a tutorial on galloping. Apparently a horse has either one hoof on the ground or no hooves on the ground during galloping - I think I have demonstrated that in this image!!

We have decided to go again - it was great fun - and we have learnt a lot about suitable settings etc today.

Quite nice in large
