Leazes Park, Newcastle
Leazes Park in Newcastle dates back to 1873. It was re-opened on 16th September 2004 by the Duchess of Northumberland thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Unfortunately it hasn't faired well and is generally in a pretty poor state again :(
It is overlooked by the Toon - Newcastle United's, home ground, St.James' Park. It (Leazes Park), unfortunately also, seems to be regularly patrolled by the local "down and out" fraternity, which doesn't especially make it a nice place to visit!
