A day of cooking
This was my first attempt at moules mariniere. It was tasty but the effort of de-bearding, de-barnacle-ing and scrubbing god knows how many mussels for 2 people for the miniscule amount of actual food at the end of it was a bit disheartening. The upside was that Liam, my 2 year old, seems to love mussels - he takes after his father for adventurous eating - my other 2 won't touch them. Can't blame them really, many of my friends won't eat them either and I have only recently become a fan.
I also made a baked lemon cheesecake but there seemed to have been a local lemon curd shortage and I couldn't get it anywhere so yet again, a slight culinary disappointment.
My lasagne was nice though!
