We had a really poor night. Katie was up for a lot of it after 11pm.She eventually gave in and went back to sleep about an hour before the alarm was due to go off. So I left her sleeping and pottered round doing the jobs. I think it was her teeth were giving her a lot of grief again, despite calpol, but she's not been herself today. And chewing her whole fist.

We got up and out and headed for a much anticipated day out (of course we had a bad night, we had plans!) First stop was a quick visit to the Next sale. A bargain hoody, hat and leggings for Katie. In the sports shop next door I even found me a pair of fab converse-typey shoes for a fiver. And they're turqoise!

We went then to a new swimming pool. It was a brilliant pool, recommended to us by Ava and her mummy. Katie was a bit spooked by noisy big kids so was rather clingy but had some great times swimming around at the deep bit, away from all the kids and loved bobbing round when the waves were on.

She fell to sleep almost immediately we came out of the leisure centre. Monkey cuddled her as she slept and we headed to the big park which was our next stop. Katie's first words as she opened her eyes were 'dog, woofwoof' as she sat bolt upright!

The park is a lovely one, it's free and there's loads of animals and stuff - llamas, freerange chickens (Katie followed them round saying 'chick-chick') peacocks, posh sheep, posh goats, and incredible aviaries of parrots and birds nad exotic ducks. Katie was loving watching them until one of the parrots sqwarked at her. But she was soon settled by a very beautiful parrot who happened to say hello. In a very very broad accent!

She hasn't been herself today at all, but has tried so very hard to enjoy herself. In the play park, she wanted to go on everything but then realised she didnt want to after all. At lunch, she wanted to try everything, but then didn't want anything. She walked looking at the ducks and geese, then wanted to be carried.

She had another sleep whilst Sarah and I did a few more bits of shopping. She woke from her sleep with a really high temperature, but settled after some calpol had kicked in. We'd been invited for a complimentary meal at a new restaurant and she even managed to eat a bit of tea (nothing from there, just crackers, raisins, cheese etc that we had anyway!) But Mummy and Sarah had a very very lovely meal and I would definitely recommend to any of you that see one to try The Handmade Burger Co.
