Lost flower found

I found this plant in a rather overgrown bed in the garden whilst pondering the urgently needed pruning and tidy up I ought to do tomorrow. I'm not sure what the flower is but the heads were hanging down and pointing towards the earth. It wasn't until I lifted the flower head that I realised how beautifully marked it was. So I tied it up and went to get the camera.

Shot a bunch of close ups hand held with my standard zoom lens rather than the macro capable longer zoom as I'm having a lot of problems getting focus right on that. Very pleased with the focus and clarity on these shots... think I'm going to have to invest in a better macro lens soon. I find I'm increasingly drawn to the intricacy and beauty of the small scale world and love the way that the camera can bring out detailed texture and structure that's not visible to the naked eye.
