shriveled orange

everything i looked at today reminded me of fruit...

but i swear...this looks like an old orange. right? all shriveled up. is it just me?

really it's a rose hip...

i'm fascinated by rose hips... i think they're the funkiest things ever. i will never understand them and right now many of them on the bushes around the house appear to be useless... like there is just no way roses are going to end up blooming later in the spring time. i know this isn't true though, because all of a sudden the bushes will burst forth with wonderful flowers... tiny little roses, that won't last long but will be very pretty nonetheless.

in the meantime, i may shoot a couple more of the hips that peak my fancy. just 'cuz...
