Not thrill seekers
Started work early and finished early so couldn't resist heading up the hill.
Despite what on paper looks like a crap flight (about 10 minutes down to the bottom) it was great to be flying around in scrappy little thermals just above the trees and hillside houses. This glider flies so nicely and I love it.
I met a couple more hang glider fliers, Phil and Steve, who I didn't know before. There is a special bond between fliers - but more so between hang glider pilots. People think that footlaunch fliers must be thrill seekers but that isn't the case - it is much deeper and more intellectual than that. Thrill seekers soon get bored and leave the sport.
Steve summed up the afternoon perfectly - "We all got our feet off the ground and no one died. What more could you ask?"
Not that he's a thrill seeker.
