Iron Coal Steel

These sculptures are dedicated to the traditional industries in the Coatbridge area.

They show the traditional names of the occupations for each:-

Iron: Founder; Moulder; Puddler; Roller

Coal: Huer; Bottomer; Putter; Buttocker

Steel: Melter; Furnaceman; Tapper; Teemer

I can just imagine the reaction I would have got if I went home and announced I had got a job as a Buttocker!
