queue human

I went along to Starbucks today for my free bag of coffee. It was the longest queue I'd been in for this store. It made me think about the social nature of humans. In his book Herd Mark Earls calls humans a we-species rather than an I-species. We love getting together. We can drink coffee on our own, but it's better with others.

In his book You Only Have to Die James Harnish claims: 'You can survive on your own. You can grow strong on your own. You can even prevail on your own. But you cannot become human on your own.' What do you think?
