Strike a pose

I was trying to take a snap of our boys on this handmade quilt that was sent as a gift for Sam's birth. I didn't realise until afterwards that both our boys had adopted such similar poses. Weird.

Anyway, the quilt was given to us by The family who run the chateau we spent our honeymoon in last May. We worked out little Sam must have been conceived their and sent a note to the family who run it to say we were expecting another baby, of the honeymoon variety. Lara, Pauwl, and their daughters Indy and Nina are such a gorgeous family. They welcomed us from the minute we arrived at the chateau . Luke had a great time playing with the girls, who were very patient with him since he was only 20 months old at the time.

The story behind the quilt is that Pauwl's mum makes one for every baby that is born into their family. It's handmade and called an 'eye spy' quilt, full of bright colours and interesting fabrics for children to pick out different elements of.

Since our baby was conceived at Chateau Percey Lara has given us honorary membership of their family with this quilt!

In June we are going back to the chateau with our two boys, my cousin, her husband and their two boys. It will definitely be a different experience this time, but great all the same.

Anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in Northern Burgundy, France should definitely look Chateau Percey up.
