Rooster Cogburn

Finally took a photo of our one and only Rooster that roams our property. He is the King Roost of the dog kennels.

Quickly I'll tell the story. My husband had built a chicken coop with our daughter as a school project. We never used it, well a little over a year ago he decides to buy some chicks and raise them. So all the chicks grow up into nice hens, we have some roosters too. The hens start laying eggs and everyday we have wonderful fresh eggs. Going great right.

BUT....unfortunately my husband became ill, the doctors highly recommended we do away with the chicken coop, with his health and immune system being the way it wasn't wise for him to be around birds.

My wonderful brother-in-law Hector came to my rescue and had all the hens and roosters taken off our property....except this one, "Rooster Cogburn". No one could catch him.

So now he roams our property and protects our outside dogs as if they were his hens, bless his heart. I've actually become fond of him. But when he gets a little crazy, I let him know that I can easily cook him for our next meal! Seems to keep him in check.
