Frog and Spawn
There is still a frog frenzy going on, but they are more wary now and hid amongst the leaves each time I moved. Patience paid off.
On Sunday I went to prune some brambles from a philadelphus, only to discover a pair of Long Tailed Tits had started to construct a nest. Today it is complete, a spherical work of art in Lichen and moss, with a tiny entrance hole on the southern side.
It is almost impossible to photograph the nest due to the numerous branches surrounding it, sadly however the local magpies already have their eye on it. The last two years the magpies have waited for the chicks to hatch and then taken them destroying the nest in the process... I hope all will be well this year.
Sadly I also found a drowned Buzzard in a large water tank in the horses' field. Even in death it is a magnificent bird.
