Unseen Scars
I'm sorry for the subject of today's blip, but this is something I've been thinking a lot about lately. This is the scar on my thigh that very few people have seen. I've been ashamed of it, sickened by it and tried to think of any way to make it go away.
This is a physical scar that I've dealt with for only a year, but I often think of it metaphorically. Everybody has scars that nobody sees, whether they be physical, mental or emotional. Most of the time, people feel the same way over all their scars that I feel about this one.
What I've come to realize is that scars are your body or mind's way of telling you that you're stronger than the circumstances that scarred you. I've decided that i'm no longer going to be ashamed of my scars. I've survived, and that should make me proud.
