Piece of gasturbine
Because all of my moonshots were rubbish and my shift will end before I can see the sun rise properly I had to take this emergency Blip.
A view inside the gasturbine of unit EC 6.
At left: the first row of rotating blades of the power turbine, the first stage nozzlering and one transition piece (the odd shaped can). The hot gasses coming from the burner flow through the transition piece and are being directed to the row of rotating blades.
Both nozzle ring and first row of rotating blades are "cooled" by compressed air, coming from the compressor of the gasturbine. (a total gasturbine comprises of compressor, burners and power turbine.
The power turbine drives the compressor, and that costs about 60% of it's power.
