Moschatel

I've been monitoring this small patch of Moschatel 'Town hall clock' for a few weeks now since the leaves 1st started to appear. The flower spikes have now opened up. It is a wonderful little plant. This particular patch has been steadily colonising the banks of a small stream over the years I have been looking for it and this year it has spread some more. 100's of people (and dogs) walk past this spot each week in Cuerden Valley Park and are oblivious to it's existence. It will be gone in a few weeks then the dreaded Himalayan Balsam will take over, the seedlings are already poking through.
