Yes that's right. Some people have uploaded lovely pictures of a very large moon. But one of the consequences of the moon being so close is the fact that we have unusually high and low tides.

Though I have to confess I have seen higher tides when there has been a deep depression in the north atlantic and Gales from the north piling the water into our loch, I have never seen such low tides. There was a good five feet below the bottom of the slip.

Some of the moorings have dried out so that the fishermen have had to tie their vessels to the pontoon.

Of all of the photographs I took this afternoon and this evening the one that I have uploaded is by far the most attractive. The others whilst being interesting were not so attractive.
