Spooky arches

An early start for the final stages of work on the infamous quarterly magazine, then an off-premises coffee break with my mate Derek who couldn't have timed it better when he phoned just as I'd got to the stage of talking about sign-off with the client.

We went to the café in the Red Stables in St Anne's Park and had a good old natter over soup and scone and coffee. I hung around for a bit after Derek left and went on a little bit of a blip wander. It's been a while since I've been down beside the grotty little stream which wends its way under this quaint folly-type bridge with its strange arches. The sun had tried to break through the clouds earlier but changed its mind as I got to the stream, so it was all a bit murky and spooky and scary. -- "Gothic" is probably the appropriate word for the atmosphere.

Spookier.

Back at the grindstone there were still a few changes to be made to the magazine, but sign-off duly came shortly after 4.00 pm. Five hours later everything has found its way onto the printer's web-based production system and the Go button has been pushed. Time now for a glass of wine perhaps, or maybe even a refreshing G&T.
