Spring?

After enjoying a lovely day yesterday, a real taste of spring, I couldn't get out for a walk until late today when I captured this blip of a lady cardinal. The males of the species are bright red and flashy, but I actually prefer the females because they have such a spunky attitude.

Unfortunately, today was one of those days that remind us that spring can be fickle. On the calendar, spring began yesterday evening, but after that, weather-wise, it went downhill. During the night we had a thunderstorm with lots of bangs, booms, and flashes. It played itself out by morning, but left behind plenty of puddles and grey skies with just a tiny bit of filtered sunlight. Spring? Maybe it will return next week?
