You need to look at this photo as though it is an Airfix model (all will become clear shortly!) If you don't know what an Airfix model is then a quick search on the internet will clarify.
Had to visit the fang farrier today. 2 bits of dental work to be done, one of which was an extraction. Now I have every respect for dentists and their profession, but I absolutely hate the idea of extractions. This stems back to childhood fear (and I do mean fear), and terror of 'the school dentist'. So much so that even now I cannot travel past the old school dentist building without it triggering deeply unhappy memories.
As an incentive to be brave my mother always promised me an Airfix model after having dental treatment. And, God bless her, I always got one.
No Airfix model today. The equivalent was a visit to a nice pub with Mrs S for a 'soft' lunch and unfortunately only a soft drink. And very nice it was too.
ps. The receptionist at the Dentist could tell the prospect of the treatment was on my mind. In response to her question I'd said I was looking forward to this as much as I'd look forward to a hole in the head. Its just a saying - but then I realised that is exactly what was about to happen! Ho hum. Tomorrow is another day and there a zillions more stressful and difficult circumstances that people face every day and that keeps things firmly in perspective. Hope you all had a good day.
