Start

Second day back at home and more lovely weather. Took the opportunity, with the weather being so calm, to get out in the Kayak for the first fishing trip of the year. Not a lot caught, but a beautiful day to be out just paddling around.

The headland in the distance is Start Point, one of the big tidal bottlenecks of the English Channel. With the largest tides for twenty years over this weekend, even in the flat calm there were waves rumbling away just off the point, all due to the charging current meeting the immobile rock ridge that runs out underwater.
