All so normal...
... and not to mention cute ;-)
I've arrived today in Nelson for a 3 night break. No, I'm not here because of Ken Ring's earthquake prediction of something "for the history books" on Sunday. I'm an evidence based person and when his "predictions" are stacked against aftershocks the pattern is simply random. We live on a plate boundary and we will get earthquakes. That's just the way it is.
This is another of my short breaks from Christchurch booked way back in late January when mid-March seemed a long way off. Suddenly this trip has arrived.
I'm with extended family for a couple of nights then off to stay a night with twigs. It's beautifully warm and sunny, we've been for a walk, done a few errand and taken little Anelise to see the ducks in the park. She's a wee trick this one, the smiles are there but she's not about to turn them on when adults want them, far to smart for that.
It's all so normal. People are laughing and smiling and don't looked strained. Buildings are all in one piece. There are no cordons, helicoptors buzzing overhead or clusters of army boys and girls clustered at intersections.
I rather like it and am glad to be here.
