THABAL CHONGBA

Hand in hand they jump roun and round to the beat till late in the night. Annual spring festival of Thabal Chongba literraly meaning jumping in the moonlight in the olden days particularly of youths of both sexes completing puberty and those who're still unmarried. Nowadays fluorescent lighting is done and the music comprises of a big drum, side-drum, cymbals, clarinet or saxophone or even harp duly amplified with PA systems to the maximum so that all the din travel far and wide in the night and potential male youths from afar can hear and smell the females! Maybe it's the general concensus of the society for their youths to courting and match-making finally ending in love marriage.
