Photo op
The last few days have consisted of a dingily lit location shoot, coursework (catching up) and State Titles, where I would have had photo opportunities (many), but instead had to abandon hopes of a media bib and act as an age group leader and stand out in the sun for 8 hours straight (despite reapplication of sunscreen, lost it's appeal after 4 hours...)
Today we played with the various lighting styles of portraiture in the studio, photographing fellow suckers for punishment. I have learnt my neck looks horrible in a straight pose, but looks a whole lot better with butterfly lighting and the hypnotic gestures of my lecturer telling me to lean forward, bit more, bit more (falling off stool at this point), chin out, down a bit........
The kids have a pupil free day next week, so I have volunteered them. They are far more photogenic than me.
Frankly, the shots I took in the studio today belong completely in the pants department.
But I'm quite pleased with this one:)
