One Foot in Sea, One on Shore
The incredible M, putting her fairly new Canon to good use on Portobello Beach. I remember when I came to Edinburgh for university, a lot of people told me lots of negative things about Portobello. However, I just don't think that they are justified. Sure, it might not be the cleanest sand, the purest water, the longest stretch, the warmest temperate, the classiest clientèle. But it's one of the only beaches in the city. And I find there to be something so unbelievably cleansing about being beside the sea. Perhaps it stems from coming from a town that is the farthest in land before you get closer to the ocean on the other side.
Also, beaches mean ice cream, even in chilly sunny March. Today I introduced my visitors to Irn Bru flavoured ice cream from a shop on the prom. Phenomenal.
