Play Well
Having had the blipsensory suggestion of lego planted in my head by 42 yesterday, I suggested to the boys that if they tidied up this morning they could bring down the box lego box and spread the contents all over the place.
We spent a happy half hour trying to match up lego heads to bodies + arms + legs + hair + lightsabres + cloaks + sunglasses + helmets + other odd accessories. I think out of about the 25 or 30 lego folk we assembled only 2 or 3 were actually the way they left their original box. But we didn't mind and neither did they. Storm troopers mixed it up with Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker lent Steven Spielberg one of his wigs... everyone was happy.
The boys then built a huge space station all over the coffee table. Assembled from various Lego kits long forgotten as to which they really belonged but given an even better existence for all that. Even the bits that have gone to the great vacuum cleaner graveyard have served the purpose of freeing the imagination from the instruction book.
After lunch Dieseldaisy arrived and whisked the boys off for an afternoon at the swimming pool. Her intention was that I could relax and have a wee recuperative snooze. Which of course I did...
... but first I played with the lego.
