Motorcade

Today I had a pretty relaxing and uneventful day in Rio de Janeiro. We spent quite a lot of time outside the Mariott Hotel waiting to see Barack Obama, but he didn't materialise in the time we were prepared to hang around. There really is some effort to protect him, with snipers on the roof, sniffer dogs, a serious number of secret service, both American and Brazilian military, and the rest. I was a little disappointed (as will at least one of my friends) that the outrider motorbikes were not perfectly aligned, but I can't exactly complain.
