Super Saturday

Actually, it wasn't so super.

In the football I wanted Cardiff City to win. They drew. I wanted Swansea City to lose. They won. I wanted Norwich City to lose. They drew. I wanted Arsenal to win. They drew. I wanted Manchester United to lose. They won.

In the rugby I wanted Italy to beat Scotland. They lost. And I wanted Wales to beat France. They lost.

But if there was one thing that made today super, it was Ireland's performance against England in the penultimate game of the 2011 6 nations championship. England, unbeaten in the tournament and looking for their first Grand Slam win since 2003, had no answer. Ireland were quicker, slicker and smarter and played a phenomenal 80 minutes of rugby. They were hungry, intense and unrelenting. England just crumbled.

And I enjoyed every minute of it.
