The British Library

The opera last night was wonderful. Roberto Alagna was just as magnificent in "Aida" as I had dreamed. It was a perfect weekend.

The photo was taken from the hotel where we stayed, looking away from Euston and towards the new St Pancras Hotel which has been refurbished and is about to open to the general public.

Immediately in front is the British Library, well worth a visit. Among other amazing treasures, including priceless religious books and papers, is the Magna Carta.

It is free to go in. There are always fascinating exhibitions and the permanent treasures would be well worth a visit without all the rest.

and the cafe serves very reasonably priced marvellous food.....
