Avon Gorge

Looking up the Avon Gorge on a misty morning with promise of a fine day which was fulfilled.

The tide is out and so one of Brunel's finest achievements , the Clifton Suspension Bridge, is reflected in the remaining water in the Avon .

The bridge is in daily use and a toll of 50p is charged over !50 years after it was built.

It is truly a great piece of engineering.
