when I was your age

when i was 13, my biggest worry was figuring out how i was going to con my mom into picking me up from school. i hated taking the bus.

when i was 13, i wanted to be my sister who was 17 and already beautiful and already dating.

when i was 13, i could eat hot dogs raw and cold out of the package-straight from the refrigerator. i actually did that a lot.

when i was 13, i had already been kissed and knew i liked it- very much.

when i was 13, i had 4 revolving best friends, depending on how the week was going, or who was wearing matching clothes with me that day.


why does that seem so long ago, almost 20 years?
i don't miss being that age at all,
maybe i just like my life and all its complexities.
