Eating out Iranian style

Out in London last night with some work colleagues and we went to eat at Alounak in Kensington - an Iranian restaurant.

This is the oven just inside the door, where all night, they were making fresh flat bread, absolutely delicious! We had a big pile of the breads with hummus, aubergine & another couple of dips I didn't recognise for a starter.

Unfortunately the main courses weren't as good, mostly lamb or chicken with rice - but everything was quite dry, could have done with some sauce. Not quite as spicy as we were expecting either, so all in all, we wished we had gone to the Lebanese restaurant we went to last year.

We had a good laugh though, helped along by a couple of bottles of wine from the off-licence round the corner.
