Stunned
What a sad sight. There were actually two burned cars, the other one was being taken away as I passed them.
Edit 19/03:
Just read the local news : 6 cars were burned the night before last, in different parts of town. Apparently, 3 cars were set on fire, and each time the fire propagated to the one next to them before the firemen arrived. The journalists give no explanation yet, but sadly it's a common 'game' among juvenile delinquents. Every time there's a social protestation of some sort, some ramdom cars get burned. I don't know what triggered it that night, sometimes they don't even need an excuse. And of course it can be anyone's car. Each year, on New Year's Eve, hundreds of cars go up in smoke in different cities (mainly in and around Paris). Just 'for fun'. It got to the point that the media don't even mention it anymore (actually, they say things like 'We won't tell you how many cars were burned last night') for fear it will encourage a kind of competition between gangs.
All this really makes me ashamed of my country.
