Cruelty

I had to stay in the capital this weekend again for work-related training so I decided to go for a walk in the park after the session had finished.

I couldn't stay long. There were six elephants including this baby one chained to trees. Look at the chafing on his ankle where the chain is. It broke my heart.

When I enquired about them, I was told that they were fine because they were work animals and that they had plenty to eat. Hmm.

They have been transported to this park for 'a few days' to take part in a big annual festival.

Next time you see one of those ornate festival processions, spare a thought for this innocent creature.
