Kidnappers on the loose?

On December 7, 2010 I posted a picture of a sculpture of two children sitting on a park bench that is on the sidewalk just west of the yarn shop where I work. Well, yesterday, the little girl came up missing, leaving the little boy all alone. Then today, when I pulled into the parking lot, the little boy was on the other side of the bushes behind the bench leaned over like this. It appears someone was trying to kidnap him also. We reported it to the Ogden City Police, but they didn't seem to be too concerned. They didn't even know that it belongs to the city. They were rather apathetic. Certainly makes you wonder why people have to do things like this. The metal that it is cast from apparently has little value, so melting it down would not net much in the way of cash. The policeman set the little boy back on the bench and said he would write a "suspicious activity" report. Sad state of affairs we have come to.
