Green Man
And so begins a week in Birmingham at Pete's :-)
Pete picked me up at the station and we went to the Custard Factory to meet his friend Andrea (who reminds me so much of my best friend Gemma!). We had a coffee and a good chat - something tells me she's got some stories to tell about Pete which I'm looking forward to hearing over a bottle of wine one evening :-)
The Custard Factory - named because it is where instant custard was invented - is now a very funky trendy collection of cafés, studios, offices, clothes shops, fountains, and sculptures.
This 12 metre tall Green Man is the largest free-standing sculpture of the Green Man in the world. Built in 2002 by a Zambian artist (Toin Adams) - this is a fascinating and breath-taking piece of art - I might have to go back in the week for a better look!
