It is easy to be cynical about Red Nose Day, many of the problems being addressed are simply too big to contemplate in one effort and we will all return to our decadent lifestyles tomorrow, believing we have done our bit. In the meantime, how many of the poorest countries of Africa are run by corrupt governments, unchallanged (or even assisted) by our own goverment?

The excitement of the event is there to see from a child's perspective though, a fun day at school and she understands the numbers - telling me what my donation has bought, and for whom. Fingers crossed it makes even the smallest difference.
