Friday
Normally I'd say "Thank Crunchie it's Friday" but as I'm on holiday this week, it doesn't have the same appeal! I spent most of the day in Belfast again enjoying some "us time" with the other half. I took 114 photographs while waiting outside various shops etc. Thanks to Blip, I don't mind waiting outside shops any more!
We enjoyed some bright Spring sunshine, which with my limited skills, made it a little more tricky to get decent shots. My main shot shows two older ladies dressed for town. It was a very overexposed shot, so I slid the slider all the way back on Lightroom 3 and ended up with what looks like a photograph taken when this pair might have first started dating the young men in their lives. Otherwise, it's as it came out of the camera.
I was brave today and approached my first stranger to ask if I could take their picture. Jenna was a bit of a captive audience as she works in a tiny coffee booth in High St but was very obliging and posed for four or five shots. Again the bright sunshine affected the image but given my nerves, I'm happy with the result. Click on "Jenna" below to see the result.
Shortly after this, I cajoled Mrs P to have her feet nibbled by a few dozen little carp fish in Appyfeet in Castle Court. Her picture, taken while her feet were been attacked by the fish, doesn't quite get across the acute anxiety she was suffering, but to give her credit, she stayed the course and made it out of the place in one piece. Tomorrow, I'm taking part in an official Photowalk as part of the Irish Blog Awards, in which we'll get a guided tour of Belfast's City Hall and a few other interesting sites. Should be a lot of fun!
